Kiran Nadar Museum of Art
In the museum’s first ever artist solo exhibition, the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art presents the most comprehensive exhibition to date of artist Nasreen Mohamedi (1937-1990). Encompassing the artist’s practice from the late 1950s to late 1980s, this retrospective exhibition features an extensive compilation of photography, sketches, studies and drawings.
Nasreen Mohamedi was born in 1937 in Karachi and passed away in 1990 in Kihim, India. Her works have been on view in exhibitions and institutions worldwide, including the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), Brisbane, Australia (2012); Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, NY (2010); Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA (2007); MoMA’s P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, New York, NY (2007); Documenta XII, Kassel, Germany (2007); Drawing Center, New York, NY (2005); Armand Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA (2003), and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (2003).
